About this test
Urinary tract infection
This is a new selftest to detect a urinary tract infection in urine samples. A urinary tract infection (UTI) is a bacterial infection that affects any part of the urinary tract, including the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. UTIs are usually caused by bacteria from the digestive system, such as Escherichia coli (E. coli). The bacteria can enter the urinary tract through the urethra and multiply in the bladder, causing an infection. The tests detect: leukocytes, blood, nitrite and protein.
Women are in general more prone to Urinary tract infection, and can cause a variety of symptoms:
- Pain or burning sensation during urination
- Frequent urination
- Urgent need to urinate
- Cloudy or strong-smelling urine
- Pain or pressure in the lower abdomen or back
- Fever or chills (in some cases)
The test is CE-marked for self-use, easy-to-use, has excellent accuracy and results are visible in 2 minutes.
